Spotted Owlets
India conjures up many images in our minds; the bustling chaos of the cities, romantically inspired temples, colonial influences and awe inspiring wildlife experiences. Our exciting tour captures all these images and brings them to life in a glittering array of excursions. For a flavour of the real India, we make several journeys by rail through the land of the Maharajas. The range of habitats is extensive and we will travel through dusty plains, parched deserts, tropical forests, exotic river valleys and the snow clad peaks of the Himalayan foothills. We travel at a time when the climate is pleasant and the range of species is at its best with both resident and wintering species present. We also have the opportunity to view some of the other spectacular wildlife of the region and with great fortune this may include Tigers. Man and nature are inexorably linked in India and our guides are heavily involved in preserving this fascinating relationship through various conservation partnerships. The tour will be well balanced with opportunities throughout for viewing all aspects of Indian culture and history, as well as one of the greatest wildlife shows on earth.  Steve Cale and various local guides from our partners at Asian Adventures will lead the tour, all of who have many years of experience in guiding tours in India. The terrain is mostly easy, though some optional trekking may be involved. You can expect to see over 300 species.
