Pallas's Sandgrouse

Mongolia is becoming one of the best birding countries in Asia and you have the chance on this tour to help contribute to the sometimes poorly known avifauna as we will ensure all data will be passed through our guides to the Mongolian Ornithological Society who have helped us organise this holiday. You can see a variety of sought after species in a wide variety of habitats and interesting landscapes from Siberian taiga forest to the steppe in the country made famous by the Emperor. As well as the beautiful, wild countryside, you will get the opportunity to experience some aspects of the nomadic lifestyle so often associated with Mongolia as we spend nights under the stars in specially prepared Ger camps; all fully equipped for your comfort as we make full use of this outstanding chance to spend time away from more generally visited areas in traditional style accommodations. We will use a wide variety of vehicles to explore the rugged terrain and you should be prepared for slow progress on sometimes poor roads as you will be visiting true wilderness regions. Your tour leaders will be Neil Donaghy and Bayanmunkh Dashnyam and you can expect to see 175 + species.
