The south west of England is an excellent region to enjoy migration at any time of the year, but our spring tour of Cornwall offers the opportunity to encounter birds literally just arriving from the near continent as they head to breeding grounds further north. Weather will play an important factor in the exact species we see, but these are excellent dates for a wide variety of species to make landfall as we search the secluded valleys, headlands and estuarine habitats of this wonderful birding county. Given the right conditions, this could involve species overshooting their Mediterranean breeding grounds, adding a large dose of the unexpected and excitement to our birding. Additionally, there are some sought after resident species present and we will endeavour to make sure we see all of these. The terrain is mostly easy though will involve a fair amount of walking on uneven surfaces most days. Our traditional guesthouse accommodation at Bosavern Farm is extremely hospitable as well as offering great home cooking, a roaring fire and a good selection of drinks at the bar and complimentary WI-FI. We will also eat at local restaurants and pubs during our stay and you can expect to see approximately one hundred species.
