South Wales - Autumn Migration

Date: 20th - 25th August, 10th - 15th September and 26th September - 1st October
Leaders: Neil Donaghy

Introduction

Common Kingfisher

If you enjoy watching migration without the crowds, or simply wish to improve your existing identification skills, then these tours come highly recommended. This area is truly understated and its location offers potential for exciting discoveries to be made while the large range of habitats ensures a very good mix of species is encountered. Your base in Porthcawl is right on th promenade and enjoys views over the Bristol Channel. Our itinerary is roughly the same for all dates, and it is also likely that we will visit some sites not mentioned in the main itinerary. The walks average four or five miles per day over mostly easy terrain. A degree of flexibility is made for local weather conditions and tide times and the occurrence of unusual migrants. Neil Donaghy and /or Geri Thomas will lead these holidays and you will be collected and delivered to the hotel on a daily basis. You can expect to see approximately 120 species.
